FEEA Launches 2023 Bill Bransford First-Generation Scholarship

byDan Jackman/January 19, 2023
An Asian American woman smiling at the camera, holding a notebook and wearing a backpack. A number of scholarships are available through FEEA, including a first-generation scholarship.

Since 1986, FEEA has awarded almost 11,000 merit-based scholarships to federal public servants, their spouses, children, and grandchildren.

FEEA is pleased to announce with the help from the Bransford family and the law firm of Shaw, Bransford, and Roth, the Bill Bransford First-Generation Scholarship is available again for the 2023 application period.

The $7,500 scholarship is available for first-generation college students who are the children of eligible federal employees or are federal employees themselves.*

Applicants can apply through FEEA’s common application available at feea.org/scholarships. FEEA uses a single application portal for the administration of our many scholarships. The application deadline for the current cycle is March 16, 2023.

The Bill Bransford fund was established to honor the memory of one of FEEA’s long-time supporters and board members, Bill Bransford , an attorney and founder of the law firm Shaw Bransford & Roth. Bill was committed to fairness and respect of all federal employees and a champion of higher education.

* Applicants will denote their eligibility for this program by providing information on the highest level of education completed by their parents in the final section of the application.

Visit our Scholarship page for complete program information, downloadable program instructions, and a link to the application.
