Press Release: GEICO Contributes $25,000 to FEEA #Shutdown Program
Alexandria, VA, January 22, 2019 – FEEA: The Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund today gratefully accepted a $25,000 contribution from GEICO to assist federal employees affected by the shutdown. FEEA Executive Director Joyce Warner said of the donation, “FEEA thanks GEICO for honoring its roots in the federal community with this much-needed grant, which will allow us to serve more feds in need.”
“GEICO has a long history of serving government employees and their families. We’re also offering alternative payment schedules and/or deferred payments for those impacted,” said Bill Roberts, GEICO’s president and CEO. “For those policyholders who have been affected, we’re here to help make it a little easier.”
FEEA and GEICO encourage other individuals and companies to donate and help FEEA meet the needs of impacted federal employees. Companies and individuals who want to assist in this effort can make a donation at www.feea.org/give (via credit card or e-check) or by mailing a check to: FEEA, 1641 Prince St., Alexandria, Virginia 22314. FEEA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
In addition to offering $100 furlough grants through its existing emergency assistance program, FEEA will continue to assist those facing other emergencies in addition to the shutdown through the emergency hardship loan program www.feea.org/emergency, and to provide resources and information of use to all feds in need at www.feea.org/shutdown, where we are collecting both national and regional resources.
