Check out our photos from the 2018 Public Service Walk/Run!

This year’s Public Service Charity Walk/Run was a huge success! FEEA raised over $60,000 for our scholarship, disaster relief, and hardship loan programs. Thank you so much to our over 500 sponsors, walkers, runners, and volunteers for making the event an amazing triumph. We also thank the virtual walkers and runners from 21 states who joined us for this event! We’ve put together a gallery of some of our favorite pictures which you can access at: https://bit.ly/2Iqhj8F

We’ve actually uploaded all the photos from our photographer, and participants who shared theirs, to our Flikr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/99927922@N07/sets/72157690902925080/.

If you ran or walked in the race at National Harbor you can also access your timing results at https://my.racewire.com/results/34928.

We’ve already started planning for next year’s Walk/Run. Stay tuned for more details soon and we hope to see you there!

FEEA is the only independent, national, charity for federal employees and by federal employees. All FEEA’s programs, are made possible by our generous individual and organizational sponsors who donate directly and pledge to CFC #11185 each year.

This is Hurricane Preparedness Week

Did you know this this is Hurricane Preparedness Week? Check out the National Weather Service site: https://www.weather.gov/wrn/hurricane-preparedness for more information. Last year FEEA worked with close to 200 federal families that were victims of hurricanes.

We encourage all of our federal employees and their families that live in hurricane zones to prepare early. Be sure to call your insurance company or agent and ask for an insurance checkup to make sure you have enough homeowners insurance to repair or even replace your home. Don’t forget coverage for your car or boat. Remember, standard homeowners insurance doesn’t cover flooding. Whether you’re a homeowner or renter, you’ll need a separate policy for flooding. It’s available through your company, agent or use the agent locator at www.floodsmart.gov. Act now as flood insurance requires a 30-day waiting period.

Thank You Public Servants!

This week we honor public servants who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees all across the U.S. and those stationed overseas. The men and women working day in and day out to serve our nation often do so with little notice or fanfare. Thank you for your service! You make a difference everyday in the lives of your fellow citizens.
