We’ve helped over 100 families with post-hurricane recovery so far

Natural disasters strike each and every year all across the United States. This year was especially difficult with Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria striking Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands all within just a few weeks. Meet Stephanie*.

Stephanie is a federal employee who sustained almost $100,000 in damage to her home in the Houston area. FEEA provided her a grant to help replace her drywall.

FEEA has already provided support to over 100 families to help them replace floors, walls, roofs, beds, and access temporary lodging. We were only able to help these families through the generosity of our individual and organizational donors. If you know of a federal employee who might be eligible for our grant program please encourage them to visit www.feea.org/disaster.

How a small loan can make a huge difference to a family

Hardships can strike any family. And when they do, many families are left with scary financial choices, like taking on high interest credit card or payday loan debt, or missing rent or mortgage payments and risking eviction. And with close to half a million federal employees learning less than $50,000 a year, a tragedy can really derail a fed.

This year FEEA provided almost 100 emergency no-fee no-interest loans to federal employees who had a severely ill child, a fire in their home, a death in the family, or other unforeseen personal emergency.  We were only able to help these families through the generosity of our individual and organizational donors. If you know of a federal employee who might be eligible for our loan program please encourage them to visit www.feea.org/emergency.

Will you help us change a life?

Bills and anxiety pile up quickly when you or a family member has a severe illness, your house is damaged in a hurricane, or a loved one passes. We’re writing to ask for your urgent support today so we can be there for feds like Nate*.

This year Nate, a federal employee in the DC metro area, suffered a sudden heart attack that kept him out of work for several weeks. Nate has always been there to serve his fellow Americans. And in his time of need, FEEA was there for Nate. When his sick leave ran out and bills began to pile up we offered him a no-interest, no-fee loan to help him pay his rent.

Please make a tax-deductible donation today to FEEA to help us meet our goal of being there for all feds in need.
