FEEA 2018 Scholarship Application Now Open!

November is National Scholarship Month and today we are releasing our 2018 Scholarship Application! You can read more about our program, access the instructions, and the online application by visiting: www.feea.org/scholarships. The deadline for applications is March 21, 2018.

FEEA supports its scholarship program through donations from individuals and a number of partners, including corporations, unions, and associations. We will be offering a webinar with tips for applicants in early 2018. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter @fedshelpingfeds to learn more.

Honoring the Service of our American Veterans

On November 11 we celebrate the bravery and service of the nearly 20 million American veterans of our armed forces. Just under one-in-three current federal civilian employees is also an American veteran. FEEA proudly supports our federal employee veterans along with the rest of the federal civilian workforce throughout the year.

Meet Robert. Robert, an American veteran and current employee of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is pursuing a graduate degree in Geospatial Sciences while also leading his local Boy Scout troop. Robert is one of our 2017 FEEA Merit Scholarship Winners and we thank him for his service in the armed forces and at DHS.

All of FEEA’s programs are made possible by our generous individual and organizational sponsors who donate directly and pledge to CFC #11185 each year.

Volunteer for the Annual Public Service Charity Walk/Run and you could win some great prizes!

FEEA is currently recruiting members for our new “Volunteer Crew”. Volunteers help recruit participants for the Public Service Charity Walk/Run, to be held on May 6, 2018, or raise donations through their personal event page. Anyone can be a Crew member and have the chance to win some great prizes, including iPads, GoPros, and vacation gift certificates! Check out the volunteer button at www.feea.org/5k for all the details.

FEEA is offering $5 discounts to friends and family of Crew members who use their volunteer’s discount code. That means if you register by April 1, with the discount code, the cost of joining the event is just $15, plus the race site processing fee. All registered participants (in person or virtual) will get a t-shirt, and in DC participants will also get professional race timing and a snack pack at our National Harbor race site.

Please help us get the word out and sign up for your Volunteer discount code today!

Tune in to Federal News Radio’s FEDTalk Today!

Tune in today, Friday, November 3, at 11:00 am eastern daylight time to FEDTalk on Federal News Radio 1500 am in the DC metro area or stream live to hear our Executive Director, Joyce Warner, talk about OPM’s positive changes to the Combined Federal Campaign, FEEA’s disaster relief program, how to volunteer and earn prizes for the upcoming Public Service Charity Walk/Run, and when our 2018 scholarship application will be live.

What If Every Fed Gave $2 A Pay Period?

Would you consider making a $2 per pay period pledge to donate via the Combined Federal Campaign to FEEA? If everyone did we could be there for all federal families in need. It takes just a minute on the new CFC pledging system (see image below): cfcgiving.opm.gov and FEEA’s CFC # is 11185.

We at FEEA are excited about the changes to the CFC this year, especially OPM’s more transparent and cost efficient fee structure for charities which means more dollars will get to the charities federal employee donors select. And please remember to check “Yes” on the share pledge information box so we can keep you updated on how your donation was used.

Thank you for supporting FEEA!
