FEEA has a small staff -- currently just six people at our Colorado Headquarters and one in
Washington, DC -- so volunteers are a very important part of getting the word out about our
programs and services. Hundreds of federal employees and retirees across the country help
inform the federal workforce about FEEA and serve as resource points in their local communities.
FEEA has two main types of volunteers: Scholarship Committee Members and CFC Volunteers.
Scholarship Committee Members meet one or more times during the summer months to evaluate
scholarship applications from students in their area and select winners of scholarships ranging in
value from $500 - $1,500. FEEA currently has 26 committees across the country, each
organized by a Regional Chairperson. If you are interested in volunteering on a Scholarship
Committee, please contact the Committee Chairperson directly.
CFC Volunteers assist FEEA during the Fall Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) season, which
generally runs for a six-week period between Labor Day and mid-December. CFC Volunteers
may attend CFC events at their own agencies and/or at other nearby agencies or locations.
FEEA provides all necessary materials, including newsletters and giveaway items with FEEA's
logo and CFC #11185. Volunteers may also be given the opportunity to speak briefly about
FEEA's programs at some events. CFC is the main source of funding for FEEA's annual
Scholarship Program and also helps support our Emergency Assistance efforts. Volunteer
assistance across the country during CFC enables FEEA to familiarize more federal employees
with our mission and programs and is key to our fundraising success. If you'd like to become a
FEEA CFC Volunteer, please send us an e-mail with "CFC Volunteer" as the subject and include
your name, preferred mailing address and daytime phone number.
