FAQs
Minerals Management Service Employee Assistance Fund
Last fall, many of our co-workers and friends within the MMS family in the Gulf suffered tremendous
personal and financial losses and set backs.  Throughout MMS, employees indicated a willingness to
help those in need put their lives back together. To some degree, the healing process could be
eased when financial hardships were lessened.  Federal agencies are not allowed to conduct
fundraising other than through the Combined Federal Campaign.  For this reason we established
the MMS Employee Assistance Fund with help from the Federal Employee and Assistance Fund
(FEEA).  Our fund allows those who wish to help, to  do so quickly and easily.  Affected coworkers
need only apply directly to FEEA for assistance  in the form of no-payback grants and no-interest
loans.  Eligibility is based on need and the degree of hardship.  Our fund is being established
permanently for future use as necessary and will continue to accept donations in order to be
prepared whenever and wherever the need arises.

Donations to the fund are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and may be made by:
