The DOL Employee Emergency Relief Fund provides emergency financial assistance and educational assistance to DOL employees and their families facing natural disasters or personal crisis. The Fund provides financial assistance in the form of tax-free grants and/or no-interest loans to eligible DOL employees and their families who suffer loss as a result of an uninsured personal crisis, emergency, or natural disaster causing injury to life or damage to property. Most recently, donations assisted DOL employees affected by Hurricane Katrina.
